At Bridge 9 Theater we are dedicated to connecting communities through laughter, by providing inclusive and accessible improv education, training, and entertainment. All programs are designed for anyone to feel welcome to laugh, learn, and engage no matter their backgrounds or abilities. Building a space for people to come as they are, be themselves, and share joy is so needed in the world and improv has this unique ability to bring things together.

Performances

With our sensory friendly improv shows we are always reminded that having spaces for everyone to come and laugh, no matter their ability, is vital for all of us. We all need that space to be seen and be ourselves. A “sensory-friendly” performance is a theater production that is modified to  accommodate individuals with sensory-input disorders, such as people on the autism spectrum, those with anxiety, and people with a range of cognitive abilities.

Classes and Workshops

Every class at Bridge 9 is open to all. Our teachers build workshops and lessons around being accessible to all. We also offer classes designed specifically for neurodivergent brains.  Each year we partner with Jacob's Chance and the Autism Society of Central Virginia to offer improv classes through their programs.
